Freedom Christian Academy Preschool & Childcare

At Freedom Christian Academy Preschool & Childcare, we seek to nurture the “whole child.” This includes providing educational opportunities that encourage spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Through our excellent teachers and Christian foundation, children are encouraged to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners. Children enrolled in our program will gain an age-appropriate knowledge of who God is, who they are, and who they can become through Christ.

We are annually inspected by the North Carolina Division of Child Development under religious exemption status.

The Freedom Experience

Our program utilizes the ABeka Curriculum as well as many hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities that target all areas of early childhood development. Parents will receive Preschool Progress reports twice each school year; once in October and again in May.

Field Trips

Starting in our 3-year-old program, preschool students will attend three field trips a year. We typically visit the following locations:

  • Gallberry Corn Maze
  • Exploration Station
  • Aloha Zoo

Preschool Students have two scheduled playground times each day; in poor weather conditions, students will have recess in the Sports Plex.

Freedom Christian Academy employs a full-time security officer and our building is monitored with video surveillance. Kiosk stations are located outside of each preschool classroom for parents to check their children in and out each day. You can rest assured knowing your child is safe in our care.

Preschool students will have the opportunity to perform on stage twice each school year: Once at our Christmas Program, and then again at our Spring Program.

Weekly Specials

Preschool students attend Preschool Chapel and visit the FCA Library for story time each week.

Classroom Size

We offer small class sizes to ensure that each child receives the individualized attention that he or she deserves. Each classroom has its own lead and assistant teacher.

Our typical ratios are:

2-Year-Old Program-1 Lead & 1 Assistant Teacher, 12 Student max

3-Year-Old Program-1 Lead & 1 Assistant Teacher, 15 Student max

4-Year-Old Program-1 Lead & 1 Assistant Teacher, 15 Student max

These numbers reflect the maximum number of students we will place in a class. Many of our classrooms have lower ratios than those stated above.

Hours of Operation

Our program operates on a 10-month academic calendar year. Preschool hours are from 6:30am-6:00 pm Monday–Friday, excluding Holidays. Ask us about our half-day programs. Early morning care operates from 6:30am-7:30am each morning. The academic day typically runs from 8:00am-3:00pm. Students transition into afternoon care immediately after until 6:00pm.

Summer Care Program

Preschool Summer Care is a separate program and begins immediately after the academic school year concludes. Our Summer Care program operates on a weekly tuition, with families paying only for the weeks their child attends. Unlike the academic year, students will participate in activities based on the week’s theme. Every week will conclude with a Friday “Splash Day”. Registration for Summer Care is due in May. Ability to attend after this deadline will be based on spot availability.
